BMTPC by Networking through various organizations is striving hard to promote Alternate Building Materials in construction sector. Off late utilization of Fly Ash based products is gaining momentum and the awareness level has enhanced considerably. In this regard RGRHCL, KARNIK Government of Karnataka, with the help of several agencies is aggressively pushing ahead Fly Ash based products by conducting various awareness, training, production and demonstration programs. BMTPC is actively associated with Government of Karnataka in strengthening and promoting activities in the field of cost effective technologies. A need is always being felt in the field to make the Alternative Building Materials available commercially at a very competitive price. In this regard RGRCL, Government of Karnataka has initiated a proposal to create Networking and Marketing of Fly Ash based products on a pilot basis at Raichur District, Karnataka. A Networking and Marketing shall be initially done with the dealers of the GRASIM, who are already cement dealers. GRASIM has agreed to associate actively ad support the initiative. The entire initiative shall be done through a nodal agency i.e. CENTRE FOR ASH UTILISATION AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION CASHUTEC) with the support of GRASIM, RGRHCL, BMTPC, KARNIK & KPCL. CASHUTEC will appoint authorized dealers for marketing Fly ash based products in an around Raichur District. The private public initiative will enable to promote fly ash based products effectively with Revenue Generation Model. A One-Day Technical Seminar on Eco-Friendly Building Materials Networking and Marketing was organized on 11th March, 2005 at Ambedkar Bhavan, Shakthinagar, Raichur. More than 150 delegates participated in this seminar. All the participants were dealers of GRASIM cement. The technical seminar was inaugurated by Shri Subhir Hari Singh, Principal Secretary-Housing, Government of Karnataka. He complimented the initiative of private and public partnership and assured all the required support from Government of Karnataka. The key note address was delivered by Dr. V. Ramachandra, Deputy Manager – technical, Grasim. He presented the overall scenario of the availability of flyash in the country. In his address Dr. Ramachandra also presented the Techno Economic Analysis and comparison with conventional products. He also explained the High volume application of flyash. The inaugural session was chaired by Shrir Chowsalkar, Chief Engineer, KPCL. The First Initiative of Private Public Partnership was quite encouraging and there was very good response from the dealers. During the seminar it self 10 dealers have come forward to take up the dealership of marketing of flyash based products. It is likely that the number may go upto 25. A governing council has been re-constituted for CASHUTEC were in BMTPC has been made as one of the member. The support of BMTPC was well appreciated and the local administration looks forward for such similar support in future also.
