BMTPC and HUDCO enter into an Arrangement of Cooperation with Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CHMC)

On 25^th of April, 2000, the Building Materials and Technology Promotion Council (BMTPC) and the Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) and Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CHMC) signed an arrangement of cooperation for forging collaboration in the housing related matters by way of consultations, exchange of information and promotion of joint efforts.

The arrangement of cooperation was signed by Dr. Douglas A Stewart, Vice-President, CHMC, Shri V. Suresh, Chairman and Managing Director HUDCO and Shri TN Gupta, Executive Director, BMTPC. 

The arrangement of cooperation envisages collaboration in the development and intensification of the exchange of research and technology in the housing and human settlement related matters. 

The areas of cooperation include the four major areas of housing – social housing, building and infrastructure technology, urban planning and management and housing finance aspects.  The arrangement for social housing relates to cover all aspects of housing for different geo-climatic conditions and socio-economic segments. 

The agreement is expected to lead to enhanced cooperation between the two countries in the Construction and allied activities.
